If you've been wanting to try your hand at lace knitting, this project is a great place to start. The simple lace pattern will introduce you to some common lace knitting stitches and ease you into lace repeats.
With this project you'll get lots of practice with the yarn forward and the open stitch it creates. You'll also get some practice with a simple decrease, the knit two together. The stitch pattern has a manageable four row repeat with only one of those rows a "lace row" so you can ease into lace knitting with this one.
